Window Coverings with Lose Cords

It has been quite some time since I had to think about child proofing my home. All my children are grown and now have their own homes. But recently, a little girl came into our lives, Gracie, who is now 5 months old. And we once again have the pitter patter of paws running up and down the halls.

As you may know, I am a huge supporter of cordless blinds and shades for the safety of small children. Even though you may not have small children living with you, it is important to consider, How often do your grandchildren, nieces, nephews or friends with small children visit your home?

It never occurred to me that I need to reevaluate my own home for cord safety until a few days ago when I walked into my kitchen and saw little Gracie playing with the cords from my 2” wood blinds. It made me stop in my tracks…. I could not believe what I was seeing.

As a window fashions expert it is my job to inform you about window coverings cord safety. I, the one who promotes “child-proofing” your window coverings, am now watching my little girl play with the lose cords. That is all it took! Now, I’m on a mission. That mission is to replace those wood blinds with unsafe cords. I have looked into several options and we will be choosing one of the 3 following shades:

  1. Cordless Cellular Shade
  2. Cordless Screen Shade
  3. Cordless Silhouette Shade

Which product do you think we should choose?
